Clare’s comment: A chicken’s breath is very gentle and hard to hear under normal circumstances; using a stethoscope makes it much easier to get used to what is normal, and the type of breathing that indicates a possible chest infection. Vet advice should always be sought if you suspect that your chicken has a breathing problem.
